The duties include:
* Assisting with homework to include computer-based research, review for accuracy, and supervising work to ensure that it is being completed
* Drop off or pick up from dance class, soccer, and other events. These will all occur during the scheduled work hours.
* Assistance with preparation of appropriate after-school snacks and clean up of kitchen area
* Supervision of assigned chores
* Participation in activities including trips to the park or pool, community events, and other activities
The work hours will be Monday through Friday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. (or can look at 4:00 to 7:00 on Tuesday and Thursday). Two to three times a month you will need to be available for later in the evening.
My husband and I infrequently travel overnight, so candidate will need to be available for occasional overnight stays from 6:00 p.m. to 7:15 a.m. Advance notice will be given for those dates and will be mutually agreed upon. Overnight stays will be paid at a flat rate of $125.
Qualifications for the position include:
* Prior child care experience as a nanny, tutor, or similar role is desired.
* You will be asked to provide two or more child care references, two or more personal (non-relative) references, driver's license history, criminal history search, and a writing sample.
* You will be expected to have your personal vehicle during the work day for the purposes of transporting the children as required. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS' published rate.
The following 2008-2009 Austin ISD school holidays and closing will be paid at normal rate: September 1st, October 13th, November 10th, November 26th, 27th, 28th, December 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th, January 5th, 19th, February 13th, 16th, April 10th, and May 25th.
December 29 through January 2 and March 16 through March 20 will be non-paid school closing days.
